In this commission, I illustrated a scene of a character from a client's story, stranded alone with his familiar in the lair of a dangerous wyrm. My client's main goal for the composition was to make the characters appear as alone as possible. I communicated with the client during my iterative period of roughs and lineart in order to best achieve their desired result. My final piece focused its palette mostly on muted cool tones, centered its characters in the composition and composed the canvas as a wide shot to emphasize the character's isolation.
